I hope the past couple months have been swell for y’all, full of biking and building and glorious summer nights. Despite the absence of Frankenbike during May and June, fear not! We have secured a new date — JULY 24th at the Wedge Brewery.

The Wedge is an Asheville institution and their support for things bike related is well known. When we approached them with the prospect of hosting our event it was a no-brainer and they immediately signed on. Thanks Tim!

Frankenbike activities and trading/bartering/selling/buying will begin in their enormous dirt lot right around 10am. The lot entrance is just west of the Lyman/Roberts Street intersection (before the railroad tracks).  Google will direct you to the front of the brewery, about a block farther north on Roberts and close to the newfangled traffic circle on Haywood, so beware. We expect to be hanging around until at least 4pm doin’ the bike thing.

A couple items to note: That enormous dirt lot does not provide a lot of shade! We suggest bringing wide-brimmed hats, parasols, tarps or pop up shade tents if you find yourself usually looking for respite during periods of intense solar exposure. Water is a good idea too. Also, if you’re bringing things to sell/trade it greatly increases your visibility and professional-ness if you have your goods lined up neat and orderly-like on a fold-out table or something of the sort.  Finally, since this will be during regular eating time, bring some food! If you’d rather give patronage to some local businesses, Clingman Cafe is right around the corner and open ’til 3pm. The Wedge will be opening at their regular 2pm to serve up some mighty tasty brews if that’s your thing. They also have peanuts.

Come one, come all! There is no fee for setting up a table. Trade and swap encouraged! Road, Track, MTB, Cargo/Utility, BMX, Vintage, Retro, Cruisers, ANYTHING BIKE RELATED!
